Participants

General dentists, along with their implant team, are encouraged to attend the course on specified days. Basic general dental skills in dento-alveolar surgery, including extractions and suturing, are required to enroll in the course. The auxiliaries will learn about armamentarium, unit preparation, patient communication and coding for implant therapy. ADS team members will interact with and train each participant’s team.

Each practitioner is required to bring his or her own clinical assistant to assist in surgery and learn protocols. We will pair doctors to ensure maximum exposure. The participants will not only learn from their experiences, but also from their partner’s experiences.

Each participant must also identify patients for implant surgery in advance. ADS staff will screen and perform necessary diagnostic procedures prior to surgeries to ensure appropriate clinical outcomes.

Each patient will be required to pay a $800 fee for each site undergoing implant surgical therapy. This fee covers parts and development of the surgical guides for the case. The participant will be responsible for restorative costs and may charge the patient accordingly.

Curriculum

These will be held on a designated Friday and Saturday over a two-month period, for a total of 32 CE credit hours in implant surgery and restoration, AGD subject code: Implants 690. Each session allows a maximum of six dentists as well as essential staff.

How are participants evaluated?

At the conclusion of the course, the participant must show adequate surgical and diagnostic aptitude and must feel comfortable with procedures in order to receive a completion certificate. If these benchmarks are not met, the participant may have additional clinical time with Dr. Nation to achieve needed skills in the ADS Clinic. If additional time is needed for live surgery, the same fees are applicable for patients as previously mentioned and will be matriculated into other class clinic times. Dr. Nation will provide continued mentorship for all participants of this course as needs arise.

Costs

The training cost per dentist from Mortenson Dental Partners is $6,000.

This fee covers the CE training honorarium for Dr. Nation staff support, and clinical supplies needed to support surgical training. These funds will also cover supplies used from ADS, lab support, and fees for surgical guides used in the course. If additional days are needed for a participant to receive the completion certificate, there is no additional charge.

Please remember: patients will be required to pay a $800 fee for each site undergoing implant surgical therapy.
